I’m back! Lol. It’s been a while since I last blogged. I’ve just been busy with school stuff. A lot of things happened in a span of one week. Down to business!
Our country is once again in a state of political turmoil. The congressmen/women are literally rigging the Philippine Constitution. I find it appalling that they can pass any law/legislation that will benefit them. I do believe that a shift to a Parliamentary form of government could benefit our country, but not with the government officials that we have. All of them. If we are going to create a new constitution, why must our current set of government officials be the ones to spearhead this change? Remember, these are the same people who support the most pathetic excuse for a leader, our incumbent president. These are the same people who did not pass the new 2006 national budget so that they can grab the money allotted for 2005 projects. (Ex. The government allots Php 20 mil. for new government vehicles in the 2005 national budget. A year later, the vehicles have already been purchased. But since we are using the old national budget, there will be another Php 20 mil. alloted, which is what the congressmen steal.) The so called Con-Ass rapidly became the Con-Assholes.
House Speaker Jose de Venecia also “invited” the senators to join them. As if this will really mean anything. What he is doing is for show only. What the people don’t know is this: If the senators join them, they will still be the minority. When the time comes to pass laws, even if they do not approve of it, there is nothing they can do because they are still at the losing end. They are out-numbered when it comes to voting. It would seem as if nothing will change, whether they join them or not. Jose de Venecia is a true idiot. This guy really deserves to die. One of these days, he will get what’s coming to him.
Our country desperately needs change. Not only in the form of government, but also people working in the government. Constant revolts is a sign of national degeneration.
No tyrant has ever ruled forever.

Today is the start of a new direction in American politics. The Democrats won majority of the House seats. You are probably wondering why we should care. It’s their election anyway, not ours. It doesn’t take a genius to know that anything that happens to the world’s most powerful country will affect the entire world to some extent.
Now, how will this affect us? To answer that question, we must look at the big events happening to our world today. The best example is the Iraq War. George W. Bush is a Republican President. He believes that they must finish the job they started in Iraq because if they don’t, his country’s national integrity and security would be compromised. Previously, the Republicans were in control, so it wasn’t hard to pass the declaration of war against Iraq and the invasion of Afghanistan. Now that the Democrats control congress, Pres. Bush’s powers are limited. He can no longer declare war with another nation that easily. For further clarification, Congress is the body of the United States government that creates laws and approves or disapproves sensitive issues like the declaration of war.
With the Democrats in control, I doubt that Pres. Bush will be able to accomplish what he wants, specifically the issues revolving around Iran’s nuclear ambition and North Korea’s nuclear weapons program. I am not saying he already planned to take aggressive action against the two countries, but if he did, he might as well forget it. The citizens of the United States wanted change. Now, they have it.
I just fear that this might not be a good thing. While the Democrats want the US forces pulled out of Iraq, is it really the right time to do so? Iraq is already in danger of descending to civil war. If the troops leave soon, it might actually happen. The Iraqi forces are not yet capable of keeping their own country secure from numerous insurgencies. If you ask me, I really don’t know what is the best solution: to pull out or to stay for a couple more months.
The next few weeks are going to be extremely interesting.

My predictions are correct! About 3 weeks ago, I had a to present to my APS class about the dire situation in North Korea. The satellite images I found of DPRKs Nuclear Facilities (see: Yongbyon Nuclear Facility below) showed their commitment to producing their own Nuclear Weapon. They had so many Nuclear Power Plants and it made me wonder what are they going to do with all the spent nuclear fuel rods? (It is the primary ingredient to make nuclear payload) I think that the North is going to far. Then again, on some level, they are doing it to hold a shield up against the antagonistic approach of the United States.
I can only see one outcome if the North pursues its plan. They are going to initiate their own downfall. Its neighbors are already irate about the fact that they are planning such a thing, especially Japan, lead by their new Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe. The United States, without a shadow of a doubt, will launch a preemptive strike on the North, which will soon lead to a full-scale war. I don’t think that Japan, South Korea, and the United States will allow the North to continue its new trend of making threats that will jeopardize their national security and integrity.
If North Korea pursues, there won’t be any turning back.
